Welcome to The Tucked Away Collective's 100-word story competition. We are looking for original well-written stories, with the theme of Vulnerability. Whatever that means to you. Be as creative and as weird about the theme as you like. Speculative fiction and experimental literature are welcome.

Submissions will be judged on literary merit, originality, and readability.

​

Word Limit: 100 words or fewer per entry, including the title. Anything over this limit will be disregarded, so please double-check your word count using Microsoft Word before you submit.

• Prizes: 1st place: $250 USD

• Runner up: $100

Pen Names: We will use your pen name if so indicated.

​

Submitted work must be original work by the writer and may be previously published elsewhere. ​

 

Please do not include your name on your submission. We seek to read all submissions blindly. Your name and contact information will be provided through your Submittable account, so remove any identifying information from the submitted manuscript.

​

Entry Fee and Limit: $15 USD per entry. You may submit as many entries as you'd like. Each entry requires its own entry fee.

​

Eligibility: Contest is open to anyone 18 years of age and older who writes in English.

​

Deadline: May 30, 2024.

​

Winners: Winners will be announced sometime toward the end of July or as soon as we make a decision.

​

The top fifty stories will be published in a short book entitled Vulnerable in 100 Words or Fewer. (Available on Amazon once published. A link will be added to this site when it is ready.) Once published, the top 10 stories will receive a complimentary copy.

All decisions are final.

All payments are final and nonrefundable. 

If you have to withdraw your entry from the contest, for whatever reason, you will not receive a refund.
